You should leave firewood at your campsite for the next visitors to enjoy. This isn’t required, by any means, but it’s a kind thing to do. Since people are busy setting up camp, they may not have the time to search for wood. There is no rule saying you must do this, but it is always appreciated. Your tent should be kept ventilated and free of moisture. If you choose to sleep in a completely closed tent, by morning the condensation from humidity, sweating and breathing will really accumulate on everything inside. You might wake up wet if this happens. Tents generally have built-in doors, windows, and vents that you can crack to create a cross-breeze and prevent a buildup of moisture.
Rolls of duct tape can be useful to take along on any camping trips you have planned in the future. There are multiple uses to put it to when camping, just like at home. It can repair an air mattress should it get a hole. You can also use it to patch up a tent, tarp or sleeping bag. If you’re planning on taking a long hike, place it on your feet to prevent blisters. It may also be used as emergency bandaging.
Although reading and listening music are fun activities to engage in during a camping trip, you should not forget to also enjoy and appreciate the wilderness itself. Gaze at the stars or go on a walk on a camping trail. You’ll feel much more relaxed after that.
If you are thinking about going camping for the first time, you may want to try it out the easy way first. Pitch a tent in your backyard and spend the entire night out there. Under no circumstances should you enter your house, no matter what you might be wanting. If your night goes well, and you don’t find yourself too tempted by the comforts of home, you will probably love camping.
